Bills in the Federal District. Reform of the Bylaws of the Government of the Federal District through which powers are granted to the TSJDF to present bills of Law before the ALDF [07/01/2013].
On January 7th, the decree reforming section II of article 46 of the Bylaws of the Government of the Federal District was published in the Official Federal Gazette, by which the Higher Court of Justice of the Federal District was granted the power to present bills of law and decrees before the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District.
With this the Judicial Branch, in addition to the deputies of the Assembly of the Federal District and the Head of Government, will have the power to issue bills, only in relation to the organization and functioning of the administration of justice.
This reform seeks to consolidate the principle of collaboration of branches in the Federal District, thereby generating a co-responsibility in the process of creation of the standards that govern in the capital of the country, as well as the strengthening of the local Judicial Branch in order to achieve better performance in its responsibilities of representing and safeguarding the interests of society and imparting justice.
Furthermore, it is indispensable to unify the powers of the Higher Court of Justice of the Federal District with those of the judicial branches of the rest of the states, since the capital judicial branch was the only one that did not have powers to present bills of law.
